<p>Description automatically generated with medium confidenceOn November 1, 2021, NPD responded to Publix at the Naples Plaza for a report of a just occurred robbery.  Units close to the location BOLO’d for a suspect vehicle, described as a blue sports car.  The suspect was not located.  Sergeant Herman responded to Publix and met with the victim, Mrs. Suellen Brown.  Sergeant Herman relayed additional information to dispatch and responding units.  Officer Schickfus arrived on scene a short time later and took a sworn statement from Mrs. Brown.  Detectives Holmberg and Martinez reviewed nearby traffic camera footage and LPR data and were able to locate Mrs. Brown’s mobile phone and track its position.  BOLO information was forwarded to neighboring police agencies and the suspect vehicle and sole occupant were located by Fort Myers PD at about 13:20 hours. The subject, Richard Andrew of North Fort Myers, was taken into custody.

This incident, and the quick outcome, show the level of professionalism exhibited by all personnel involved in the case.  The effective use of available technology, along with a coordinated effort within the NPD, and with neighboring agencies, resulted in the arrest of a robbery suspect within 90 minutes of the offense taking place.

On November 15, 2021, Robyne received a Department Level Letter of Commendation, and Command Recognition Bar for Q2 2021 for assisting in the location of an endangered individual on June 27, 2021.  Robyne Worked during her shift by contacting friends, family, and law enforcement in Collier and Dickson County Tennessee.  The subject “Zack” was ultimately located in Tennessee and transported to the hospital for evaluation.

On November 1, 2021, Royne was nominated by Sergeant Herman for a Department Level Letter of Commendation for her assistance, along with Patrol Operations personnel, for the coordinated effort with Fort Myers Police in liaison between NPD and FMPD.  Ultimately, strong arm robbery suspect, Richard Andrew of North Ft. Myers, was apprehended within 90 minutes of the crime occurring.

On March 1, 2022, the Awards Committee nominated Robyne for Civilian Employee of the Year for 2021.
