Property Taxes / Millage Rate

Property taxes are an ad valorem tax, meaning that they are allocated to each taxpayer proportionately according to the value of the taxpayer's property.

The millage rate is the amount per $1,000 (1/1000 of a dollar) used to calculate taxes on property. The expressed millage rate is multiplied by the taxable value of the property to arrive at the property taxes due.

The City of Naples millage rate is 1.1700. The ad valorem taxes are the largest single revenue source of the General Fund. Property taxes are used to pay for many of the primary services of government, including police protection, fire service, park maintenance, recreation activities and city planning. With the ad valorem at 1.1700 mills, the City will continue to enjoy one of the lowest tax rates in the State, while remaining a premier City in which to live.
