Please note: If you are applying for a Concealed Weapons Permit, fingerprints must be done at a law enforcement agency in order to be accepted.

Fingerprint Cards Are Available If Needed

Steps are outlined below:

  • Schedule your appointment via online scheduling link: Schedule Fingerprint Appointment.
  • Upon arrival at the police department, check in with Records Division and pay the required fee.
  • The technician will scan and submit your fingerprints via a LiveScan device or print you an FBI approved fingerprint card.
  • Once complete, you will have 30 days to complete the fingerprint transaction.
  • Go to https://caps.fdle.state.fl.us/ and follow the on-screen instructions using the TCN provided to you.
  • Once fees are paid, your fingerprints will be released for submission.

Once the Police Department submits your fingerprints, you will be responsible to cover the processing fees set forth by FDLE and the FBI.  Payment via credit card will only be accepted at the website: https://caps.fdle.state.fl.us/.

  • Your fingerprints will be submitted to FDLE for a state and national criminal records check and will be processed within 24 to 72 hours from time of receipt.
    • If your fingerprints are rejected for fingerprint quality, you will be required to resubmit a second set at no additional cost.  However, you will be required to bring in the rejection letter for re-submission.
