City Manager – Gary L. Young

On January 15, 2025, the Naples City Council unanimously appointed Gary L. Young as City Manager. He officially assumed the role on February 1, 2025, and was formally sworn in on February 5, 2025.

About Gary L. Young

Originally from Canton, Ohio, Mr. Young earned his Bachelor’s and MBA from Malone University. He completed a distinguished 30-year career with the City of Canton, holding key leadership roles such as Accountant, Chief Deputy Auditor, and Chief Deputy Treasurer. Following his retirement, he briefly served as CFO for the Stark County Ohio Board of Developmental Disabilities before relocating to Naples.

Since joining the City of Naples in March 2016 as Deputy Finance Director, Mr. Young has demonstrated exceptional leadership and financial acumen. He was appointed Finance Director in 2019 and advanced to Deputy City Manager/CFO in 2023. His expertise has been instrumental in maintaining the city's strong financial health, operational efficiency, and long-term fiscal stability.

Highly regarded in both Ohio and Florida, Mr. Young specializes in governmental accounting, financial reporting, ERP systems, budget management, capital projects, and debt administration. His leadership is guided by a steadfast commitment to transparency, accountability, and fiscal integrity.

Outside of his professional role, Mr. Young and his wife, Rebecca, have been married for 36 years and have two adult children, Brandon of Canton, Ohio, and Alexa of Renton, Washington.
