Dune plants

Dunes provide protection for homes and infrastructure from storms and high water. Dune plants help maintain the integrity of our dunes, shoreline and beaches and may shield residential lighting from nesting turtles. Activities that impact the dunes or their vegetation require a Coastal Construction Setback Permit (CCSL Permit Application). There are also state regulations on cutting or trimming sea grape (Sea Grape Trimming Guidelines).
