Construction Seaward of the Coastal Construction Control Line (CCCL)

A Coastal Construction Setback Permit (CCSL Permit Application) is required for any new construction, excavation, fill placement, repair of shoreline protection structures, vehicular traffic and other activities seaward of the Coastal Construction Control Line (CCCL). The CCCL was established by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection on June 28, 1989, in accordance with F.S. § 161.053, as amended. Building permits are also required for construction activities. The CCCL through Naples may be viewed on a map here by clicking on CCCL in the Layers drop-down menu.

Landscaping and beach/dune revegetation projects must utilize native beach-stabilizing vegetation and native species of salt-tolerant trees and shrubs. See City of Naples Municipal Code for more details (Sec. 52-33 - Coastal Construction Setback Line).

City of Naples Municipal Code also includes protection for sea turtles (Sec. 52-61. – Marine turtle protection regulations)
