Soaring Eagles Youth Leadership Academy

The Naples Police Department has a program called “Soaring Eagles Youth Leadership Academy”. The inaugural class occurred in July 2025. We aspire to invest in the future of our community by investing in our youth – the leaders of tomorrow. This academy will be structured similarly to our annual Citizens Police Academy, as students will get an inside look at how the police department operates, but with a focus on citizenship, patriotism, decision-making, and leadership.

The Soaring Eagles Youth Leadership Academy will be dedicated to empowering young individuals, ages 14-18 (rising 9th-12th grades), to become responsible, confident, and community-oriented leaders. Through a combination of educational workshops, team-building activities, and mentorship, this one-week camp will aim to instill core values such as integrity, respect, and civic duty. Our mission is to inspire and equip the youth of Naples to rise above challenges, embrace diversity, and contribute positively to our community, fostering a safer and inclusive environment for all.

This program will be held in the summer (June or July), and it will last one week, with an average of 20 students. The academy will consist of five eight-hour days. Participants will be selected by community service, academic achievement and incidents when they have stepped up to “Do the Right Thing”. Priority will be given to participants who live or attend school within the Naples City Limits, but interested students from all Collier County Schools (public and private) are encouraged to apply.
