Household trash collection

Collected twice a week. Side-door collection is available for residents who need it — place refuse next to the house, garage, or carport. Never set anything on top of or near containers; it may be collected and disposed of along with the trash.

Container rules

• Plastic container, closed at one end, open at the other, with a tight-fitting solid lid
• 30-gallon capacity maximum
• Set out by 7:00 a.m. on your collection day; bring the container in by 7:00 p.m. that evening

Bulk waste (furniture, appliances & C&D debris)

• Covers furniture, appliances, and Type III construction/demolition debris
• Collected only on specific dates scheduled by the city — call 239-213-4700 to arrange
• Appointments must be booked at least 48 hours before your requested date
• Do not place items at the curb more than 24 hours before your scheduled collection date
• Set out by 7:00 a.m. on the scheduled day

Businesses are served with carts, dumpsters, or large compactors. Roll-off containers are available for large clean-up projects. To start or change service, call 239-213-4700.

Roll cart service (96-gallon)

• Place within 6 ft. of the designated collection location by 7:00 a.m. on collection day
• Remove from the collection location by 7:00 p.m. the same day, after collection
• Carts are city property — damage beyond normal wear is the subscriber's responsibility
• No hazardous or liquid waste; no extra loose waste beside the cart without prior arrangement
• High-volume customers may add a second cart or move to dumpster service
   

Dumpster service (2-yard & 4-yard, wheel-mounted)

• Placed at the designated collection location by 7:00 a.m. on collection day
• Removed/closed by 7:00 p.m. the same day, after collection
• Keep lids/doors closed; enclosures may not be used for storage
• Cannot be overfilled — overfilled containers incur added fees
• Not permitted: appliances, construction/demolition debris, tires, hazardous or liquid waste, heavy steel
• Keep access clear — blocked dumpsters may incur a return-trip fee

Yard waste and horticultural debris are collected once a week, in-house by the Solid Waste Division.

Where & how to place it

• Within 6 ft. of the curb, out by 7:00 a.m. on your collection day
• Keep clear of low trees/wires — trucks need 18 ft. of clearance
• Keep debris away from storm drains, hydrants, and cable boxes
• Use paper yard-waste bags (no plastic) or an open can without a lid

What's not collected

• Debris cut or generated by landscaping/tree contractors — contractors must remove their own debris
• Trimmings must be placed on your own property until your scheduled day

Curbside recycling is collected once a week for residential and condo customers, using a city-issued blue roll-out cart (65-gallon or 95-gallon). Each cart carries a label with instructions on what's accepted. Place it curbside with the lid facing the road by 7:00 a.m. on collection day, and bring it in by 7:00 p.m. that evening, after collection.

• Glass bottles & jars
• Aluminum & metal cans
• Plastics #1–7, rinsed
• Newspaper & magazines
• Cardboard, flattened
• Office & junk mail paper
   

Not accepted

• Plastic bags/wrap
• Styrofoam
• Window/mirror glass
• Pots, pans & cookware
• Waxed cartons
• Paper cups, towels, and napkins

Unacceptable items are left in the cart. Plastic shopping bags go back to grocery stores, not the recycling cart.
 

Electronics

• Not collected curbside.
• Drop off TVs, phones, computers, and similar items at the Naples Recycling Drop-Off Center, 2640 Corporate Flight Dr. — Tue–Sat, 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. (239-252-8735).
