LUISA SPAGNOLI Episode 1

This is part one of a biographical film about a remarkable Italian woman Luisa Spagnoli (Luisa Ranieri).  She was a chocolatier, an entrepreneur, a feminist and the found of the women’s clothing house which bears her name and continues in business today.  She was born in 1877 in Perugia Italy and died in 1935. She was the driving force in the founding in Perugia Italy, of the still famous Perugina Chocolate House.  In this episode we go back to 1907 when the company was founded, and then how she and her husband Annibale Spagnoli worked together until he left to fight for Italy in World War I.

 

Presented by the Italian Cultural Society. At admittance, attendees are asked to make a voluntary contribution of $5.
