Core Values

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

The Core Values were developed and implemented in 2019 to truly capture the culture of the City of Naples and their employees. The committee was made up of 27 employees from different Departments and Divisions. An online survey was sent out to all employees with a choice of 25 values to select from to determine our top 7. This idea was to ensure that these values were made by employees FOR employees. The survey was completed by 435 employees, which totaled 88% participation. Survey results showed Respect, Accountability, Professionalism, Integrity, Dependability, Honesty, and Teamwork as the final core values. Finally, the committee defined each value giving it meaning which can be seen in the Core Values Poster.

Between the hard work of the committee and the employees, these Core Values will be appreciated and owned for years to come by the City of Naples. Although the work may seem done, the committee is still going strong and will continue to do so. More events, recognitions, and rewards are to come to show appreciation for employees who embrace these core values. The core values are not just 7 words on posters all over the City but are true values employees follow in their career and everyday personal life.
