3rd Avenue North On-Street Parking
On October 12, 2023, the CRA directed staff to proceed with the construction of perpendicular on-street parking on 3rd Avenue North adjacent to the FPL substation. Johnson Engineering prepared preliminary design and cost estimates. The estimated cost for perpendicular parking is $94,600. Additional costs will be incurred to mill and resurface the travel lane, provide new pavement markings and other potential adjustments as may be needed to accommodate the design.
An easement from FPL will be required to accommodate the perpendicular parking design that is outside of the right-of-way.
Funding for the project is within the CRA budget FY 2023-24 CIP 24C04 Naples Design District Improvements.
Currently, staff is working with Florida Power and Light to secure the easement for the portion that slightly extends out of the Right-of-Way (ROW). Following this step, the City Council will consider the easement approval.
