City of Naples Celebrates America 250

4th of July Parade - 9 AM to 10:30 AM

Celebrate Independence Day at the City of Naples 4th of July Parade as we proudly honor America 250! Experience the excitement of festive floats, hometown pride, and patriotic spirit followed by a night of breathtaking fireworks! It’s a once-in-a-generation celebration you won’t want to miss as we honor 250 years of American history, unity, and spirit! 

 

*NEW PARADE ROUTE* 
The parade will begin at 9:00 AM at the corner of 3rd Street South and 5th Avenue South. Parade participants will walk east on 5th Avenue South and turn south (right) onto 8th Street South, ending in front of City Hall. 

*Please do not sit along 3rd Street South as staging will be taking place there. 

Road Closures: From 7:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Note: Parking along the parade route will be prohibited beginning at 2:00 AM, with towing enforced.

4th of July Fireworks - 9 PM

  • When: Saturday, July 4 | 9:00 PM
     
  • Where: Due to construction at the Pier, the fireworks will be launched from a barge offshore near 5th Ave S and can be viewed from all City beaches. 
     
  • The Landings Closure: From 11:00 PM on Thursday, July 2 to 4:00 PM on Saturday, July 4
     
  • Beach End Closures: 8th Ave N, 4th Ave N, 3rd Ave N, 2nd Ave N, and 12th Ave S 
     
  • Enforcement: Lowdermilk Park will close at capacity, towing will be enforced along Gulf Shore Blvd N/S, and restricted access will be maintained around the Naples Pier.

 We’re expecting a wonderful turnout for these highly anticipated events. Please plan for travel delays, consider alternate routes, and follow posted signage to ensure a safe & enjoyable event for all. 

America 250: Community Reading of the Declaration of Independence

  • Where: On the steps of Naples City Hall (735 8th St S, Naples, FL 34102)

 

The Big Cypress Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will join communities nationwide in commemorating the 250th anniversary of the first public reading of the Declaration of Independence through a simultaneous, coast‑to‑coast reenactment. The Declaration will be read in all 50 states, 16 U.S. territories, and the District of Columbia at local times matching Hawai‘i - the 50th state and home of the initiative’s sponsor, the Hawai‘i America250 Commission.


The ceremony will begin at approximately 5:55 PM EST with an opening prayer, followed by the reading delivered by Command Sergeant Major W. Douglas Gibbens, U.S. Army (Ret.), a former President and Florida State Veterans Chairman in the Sons of the American Revolution. Afterward, six (6) bell tolls will mark the occasion. 

 

Attendees are encouraged to arrive at Naples City Hall by 5:45 PM EST.
