Mayor Teresa Heitmann

Mayor Teresa Heitmann has been a compassionate and involved resident of the City of Naples since 1988.  Throughout her years in Naples, Mayor Heitmann has been an active participant in the community.  She has served on the boards of several local organizations including Drug Free Collier, the Collier County Juvenile Justice Committee, Florida League of Cities – Civics in the Classroom Initiative and was the Chair of the Southwest Florida Regional Planning Council; just to name a few.  She also served as a City representative for Collier County Public Schools, and is a graduate of the Leadership Collier Foundation.  She has chaired the Lake Park Walkathon, was the President of the board of Aqualane Shores, and was also a visionary and founding member of Boys and Girls Club of Collier County.

Teresa’s professional career expertise has been in marketing, purchasing, sales, and long-range planning for companies such as Lancôme and Revlon Cosmetics, the Body Shop, and Jarrod’s.  She began her political career with the City in 2008, when she was elected to the Naples City Council. She was re-elected for a second term and served through 2016.  During her tenure on City Council, she is most proud of her membership with the Florida League of Cities, her position as Chair of the Environmental and Energy Committee, and her position as Secretary of the Southwest Florida Regional Planning Council.

Issues of extreme importance to Mayor Heitmann are over-development, water runoff, and adhering to the ethics and codes of conduct set forth by early Naples residents.  Hence the platform on which she ran for Mayor - Plan, Protect and Preserve!

Teresa and her husband, Dr. Jeffrey Heitmann, MD, have long resided in Aqualane Shores, where they raised their three children Zachary, Chandler, and Jeffrey Mitchell; all of whom attended Collier County Public Schools.  Dr. Heitmann, an accomplished OB/GYN physician, has served the needs of women of all ages since opening his medical practice in 1988.
