20-015 Directional Drill Services - Naples Beach Restoration & Water Quality Improvement Project - RFQ

The City of Naples (City) is pre-qualifying contractors planning to participate in bidding on the City’s Naples Beach Restoration & Water Quality Improvement Project. The Project scope generally includes the following:

1. Two offshore discharge lines (30” nominal FPVC) to be installed by Horizontal Directional Drill (HDD) approximately 1,100 ft each into the Gulf of Mexico
2. Installation of approximately 0.6 miles of storm sewer pipe
3. Construction of a pump station with backup generator
4. Improvements (widening and raising) of approximately 0.9 miles of roadway

The horizontal directional drill (HDD) portion of work will be awarded and contracted separately.  The Contractor awarded the work (HDD Contractor) will be the lowest responsible and responsive bid price will be responsible for the HDD portion of work as described herein. The Contractor shall self-perform at least 50% of the work not including the purchase of materials.  Any contractor intending to submit a bid on this project must be pre-qualified. The City is separately pre-qualifying firms to serve as the Prime Contractor for the balance of work associated with the Project.  Prequalification is only required for prime contractors and HDD Contractors.  This Request for Qualifications (RFQ) has been developed to pre-qualify HDD contractors for bidding on the Project.
