Council Member Terry Hutchison

Terry was born in Lafayette, Indiana. Raised by a single mother until he was five years of age, he was placed for adoption in California. Following his adoption by the family of a local pastor, his new family moved to Oklahoma. He graduated from Seminole High School and went on to graduate from Seminole State College. Terry worked as drilling fluids engineer in the oil and gas fields of Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kansas and Texas. Following the late 80’s crash of the US oil industry, Terry was employed by QuikTrip Corporation in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He started as a graveyard shift employee learning the convenience store business from the ground up. Terry was promoted thru the store operations ranks into the marketing department of QuikTrip. While there he developed a business-to-business sales team which was credited with delivering several hundred million dollars of profitable new business to the company.

Most recently, Terry has served as an executive with 7-Eleven Corporation. With responsibility for over one hundred stores in southwest Florida, Terry successfully developed a team which was credited with a major turnaround of the business. His span of control included budgeting, managing over a thousand employees, oversight of hundreds of millions in revenues and even more in assets.

Terry is now a 7-Eleven franchisee with stores throughout the Naples/Ft. Myers area. He serves as a Vice President/Government Affairs for the South Florida Franchise Owners Association of 7-Eleven. He is also Vice Chairman of the Coalition of Franchise Associations based in Washington D.C. He has served as President of The Lake Park Neighborhood Association and a member of the Naples President’s Council. Terry is a Rotarian and volunteers on medical missions to the mountains of Haiti.

Terry is married to Sherri, his wife of over 32 years. They live in Lake Park and have two grown children, Courtney and Cody as well as three grandchildren. The family actively supports the music program for Gulfview Middle School and are donors assisting with housing solutions for Habitat for Humanity.
