City of Naples Commercial Collection

The Solid Waste Division collects solid waste from businesses throughout the City using carts, dumpsters and large compactors. We also provide roll-off containers for large volumes of debris for special clean-up projects. To establish or change service call (239)213-4700.

Dumpster Rules and Regulations

  1. Dumpsters cannot be overfilled. Containers that are filled over the top will be subject to additional fees and an automatic increase in the level of service.
  2. Dumpster lids and doors must be kept closed.
  3. The following items cannot be placed in dumpsters: appliances; construction/demolition debris including dirt and stones; tires; hazardous wastes; liquid wastes including paint and oil; and heavy steel items. Customers shall be liable for all damage caused by such material. Please call for information concerning proper disposal of these materials.
  4. Dumpster enclosures cannot be used for storage.
  5. Styrofoam “peanuts” should be placed in bags to prevent spillage when dumpster is emptied.
  6. All food waste must be placed in 1 mil thick plastic bags and tied.
  7. Dumpsters must be placed in a location approved by the City’s Commercial Supervisor in an area that allows safe and easy access. Placement of new dumpsters are subject to zoning ordinances and screening must be provided.
  8. Dumpsters on wheels must be placed by customers at the designated area by 7 a.m. on pick-up day.
  9. The city provides the opening and closing of all container enclosure gates when collection service is provided. Container enclosure gates are to remain closed at all times.
  10. Vehicles cannot be parked as to prevent access to the dumpster. Blocked dumpsters are subject to additional collection fees if the City must return for collection.
  11. Special collections for additional oversized items, or extra pick-up of dumpsters can be provided for $50.

Cart Rules and Regulations

  1. Carts are for commercial customers who generate minimal amounts of waste; or for customers who, in the opinion of the City, cannot be serviced by conventional methods.
  2. Carts must be placed within 6 feet of the curb by 7 a.m. on the day of collection and returned before 7 p.m. in the evening. Carts should be on a level surface, adjacent to where they will be emptied.
  3. The Residential Supervisor will determine where carts need to be placed for collection.
  4. Carts are owned by the City. Any damage that occurs to the cart beyond normal wear-and-tear shall be the responsibility of the subscriber.
  5. Carts shall be returned to the City after the subscription has ended or service is upgraded to a dumpster.
  6. Subscribers need to call the City at (239)213-4700 if their cart needs repair.
  7. No additional waste will be collected beside carts. If additional waste is needed to be disposed of, additional charges apply. Contact the Solid Waste Division at (239)213-4700.
  8. No hazardous or liquid waste are allowed to be placed in the cart. Contact the Solid Waste Division on how to dispose of these materials.
  9. If volume of waste is warranted, a second cart can be added with the approval of the City (Dumpster service is more cost effective).
