Baker Park - 60% Design
The 60% design video of Baker Park can be viewed on YouTube
The 60% design for Baker Park (shown above) was approved by the
Naples City Council at the March 13, 2017 City Council workshop. This is an important milestone for the park as all elements shown in the park Master Plan have now been approved. Please take a moment and click on the video link (above) to get an up-close look at the future Baker Park!
The success of Baker Park is truly dependent upon the philanthropy of our community. Mayor Barnett and the Naples City Council are grateful for the many private donations the City has received to help construct Baker Park. While the design is approved, additional funding is still needed to build all the features shown in the Baker Park Master Plan. The City is excited to discuss several funding and naming opportunities that remain available for this legacy project. Anyone who is interested in donating to the Baker Park fund is encouraged to contact Dana Souza, Community Services Director at 239-213-7120.
Additional project updates!
Construction of the Gordon River Pedestrian Bridge and Boardwalk will begin soon! The City’s contractor, Manhattan Construction, is mobilizing on the park site and will soon begin construction of the bridge and boardwalk that will connect Central Ave. and downtown Naples, to the Gordon River Greenway along a pedestrian and bicycle friendly route. Visit this site for future updates and construction photos.
