Cart Rules and Regulations
Carts are for commercial customers who generate minimal amounts of waste, or for customers who, in the opinion of the city, cannot be serviced by conventional methods.
Carts must be placed within 6 feet of the curb by 7:00 am on the day of collection and returned before 7:00 pm in the evening. Carts should be on a level surface and adjacent to where they will be emptied.
The residential supervisor will determine where carts need to be placed for collection.
Carts are owned by the city. Any damage that occurs to the cart beyond normal wear-and-tear shall be the responsibility of the subscriber.
Carts shall be returned to the city after the subscription has ended or service is upgraded to a dumpster.
Subscribers need to call the city at 239-213-4700 if their cart needs repair.
No additional waste will be collected beside carts. If additional waste is needed to be disposed of, additional charges apply. Contact the Solid Waste Division at 239-213-4700.
No hazardous or liquid waste are allowed to be placed in the cart. Contact the Solid Waste Division on how to dispose of these materials.
If volume of waste is warranted, a second cart can be added with the approval of the city (dumpster service is more cost effective).
