How do I arrange to connect or disconnect my utility service?
If you are within the City of Naples utility district, give us a call at 239-213-1800. If you are buying/selling the property, please give us a call in advance of the closing so we can arrange a final reading of the meter and bill the appropriate parties for their utility service. 
Is a deposit required for utility service?
No deposit is required for residential service, for commercial service please contact us at 239-213-1800. 
How do I know who handles my water service?
If you live within the city limits, your utilities are handled by the City of Naples. A limited area outside the city limits is also serviced by the City of Naples, roughly from Pine Ridge south, west of Livingston Road and out US41 east to Thomasson. You can always call us at 239-213-1800 and we can tell you if you're in our service area. 
Who do I call for utilities other than water?
The City of Naples utility bill includes charges for water, sewer and solid waste collection. Utilities such as electric service, telephone or cable television are handled by private companies. Within the city limits, you are most likely served by:

My water was shut off, how do I get it back on?
Give us a call at 239-213-1800. There is a $26 fee to reinstate terminated accounts. 
I am going North for the Summer, do I still need to pay my water bill?
As long as you have active service, you'll need to pay your bill. You can use automatic debit to ease the process if you wish. However, to reduce or eliminate the possibility of water loss, you may wish to contact us to have your meter locked (there is a $75 fee for this service) to ensure no water flows, or you can shut off the water to your house. Then you will only have your base bills to pay. 
Why is my bill so high?
If you have an abnormally high bill but have had normal charges for the last few payment periods, it's likely that you have a leak of some kind. A leaky toilet can lose 2,000 gallons a day. Leaving the garden hose running could waste 750 gallons an hour. Even a dripping faucet could cost you for an extra thousand gallons or more a month.
If your bill just generally seems high, most likely you are wasting water on irrigation. By some estimates, irrigation accounts for 90% of a household's water use. There are many ways to reduce irrigation water use, but it may be that you're just watering too much, especially in the summer rainy season. What can I do to lower my water bill?
It's simple, use less water. There are many water conservation measures you can take, but the two with the best return are to use less water for irrigation and to fix all leaks in your system. 
I use a lot of water for irrigation, why do I have to pay sewer charges for that water?
You may not have to. You can install a second water meter for irrigation use, and that meter is billed without sewer charges. If you use a large amount of water for irrigation, you may be able to offset the cost of the second meter and plumbing in the savings for sewer charges. Give us a call to discuss your options. 
I'm filling up my new swimming pool, do I get charged for that?
If you use water that flows through your meter, you get charged for that water plus applicable sewer charges. For filling a pool, you may qualify to have sewer charges removed from a portion of your bill, contact us for details at 239-213-1800. 
Can I pay my utility bill online?
Yes you can, through our Online Services page. You will need your account number and a PIN to access your online account. You will find the account number on your utility bill, and you can create your PIN online. Please have your utility bill ready when you create your PIN. 
What is the automatic debit option for paying my bill?
The automatic debit option, also called Bank Drafting or ACH Debit, is a service that allows you to automatically pay your City of Naples utility bill from your checking account. No writing checks, finding stamps, remembering to mail your payment on time or worries when you're out of town, the amount of your bill is automatically deducted from your checking account.
Every two months you'll receive your utility bill in the mail, but you don't need to write a check. 20 days from the statement date, the amount of your bill is deducted from your checking account automatically. The transaction appears on your bank statements. 
How do I sign up for the automatic debit option?
Simply print out our Authorization Agreement, fill it in and sign it. Then mail it with a voided check to:
There was a voice message on my answering machine from the City stating that this was a courtesy call regarding my utility bill. What should I do?
There are a couple of reasons the City may call. If our technicians notice a leak or if there is a line break, we may try to contact you so you are aware of the situation. If your utility account is past due, it is possible that the City is trying to give you a courtesy call to let you know. You need to call 218-1800 or come in to our offices at 735 8th Street South during our business hours to figure out what is wrong. If the matter is about a past due account, our staff would like to work with you to get the matter cleared up to avoid any possible service interruptions.id a utility bill, be sure to pay it as you have been, the debit process will begin with the next bill.
