City of Naples City Council photo 2008The City of Naples has a seven-member council, six Council members and a Mayor, elected at large. Serving four-year terms, Council Members and the Mayor are limited to two consecutive terms.

The Mayor's Office and City Council offices are located on the second floor of City Hall, and we can be reached by phone at 239-213-1000. By fax, you can find us at 239-213-1010.

Council meeetings are held the first and third Wednesdays of each month, with the exception of a Summer hiatus. Council workshop meetings are held the Mondays preceeding the regular council meetings. Upcoming agendas are available from the City Clerk for all council meetings. Minutes and annotated agendas for past council meetings are kept by the City Clerk as well.




Mayor Bill Barnett
Mayor Bill Barnett served on City Council from 1984-1992 and then as Mayor from 1996-2000, and 2004 to present. He has been a resident of Naples since 1973, and was the Toyota-BMW dealer until 1983. Mayor Barnett's extensive civic involvement has in particular included helping the Guardian Ad Litem program start in Collier County, and he was the Naples Daily News Citizen of The Year in 1992. He has raised millions of dollars for local charities as a celebrity auctioneer. Bill and his wife Chris have five children and eight grandchildren.
   

Vice Mayor Penny Taylor
Vice Mayor Penny Taylor was first elected in 2000 to an unexpired two-year term and then being re-elected both in 2002 and 2006. She is a 30-year resident of Naples and owns a photography studio in Old Naples which she established in 1984. Vice Mayor Taylor lives in the Lake Park neighborhood with her dog, Thaddeus. Her daughter Arielle is currently enrolled in a Master's Program for College Administration at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville
   
Council Person Teresa Heitmann
Teresa Heitmann
Council Member Teresa Heitmann has been a resident of Naples for two decades. She and her husband Jeff, a local physician, reside in the Aqualane Shores neighborhood with their three school-age children. Mrs. Heitmann has served as Aqualane Shores Association president and is active as a volunteer in auxiliary groups within the medical community and the school system. She is also a visionary founder of Boy's and Girl's Clubs of Collier County. Mrs. Heitmann's professional background is in marketing, sales and purchasing.
   

Gary B. Price II
Council Member Gary Price has served on City Council since 2005. He has for the past 16 years been involved in the financial services industry and is a Certified Trust Financial Advisor (CTFA). He is founder and CEO of The Capital Group, an investment management firm. Civic involvement includes Boys and Girls Club and Ronald McDonald House as well as the United Way and Naples Art Association. Council Member Price and his wife Kim have two children.
   

John Sorey III
Council Member John Sorey was elected in 2004 and reelected 2008. With an MBA from the University of Tennessee, his professional background is in manufacturing and distribution management. He was an Army Infantry officer in Vietnam. Volunteer activities include: Vice Chair, Big Cypress Basin Board; Chairman, Collier Coastal Advisory Committee; Secretary, Florida Audubon; Vice President Harvard Club of Naples; and board member, Naples Players, Naples Zoo, and Friends of the Library. He and his wife Delores have two children and twin grandsons.
   
Council Person Teresa Heitmann
Margaret "Dee" Sulick
Council Member Dee Sulick was elected in 2008. She has served on the Naples Planning Advisory Board since 2006. Prior to that time she served as President of the Port Royal Property Owners Association and as Chair of its Architectural Review Committee. She holds a Master's Degree in Business Education and taught for ten years at the high school and college level. Dee, her husband Peter and two children moved to Naples in 1994. Since that time, she has been actively engaged in educational, community and neighborhood organizations throughout Naples.
   

Bill Willkomm III
Council Member William (Bill) Willkomm, his wife Mary and their children moved to Naples from New Orleans in 1989. The Willkomms have been in building and development and have operated their real estate company, Perfect Properties of Naples, since 2000. Mr. Willkomm has been active in the community as a coach and board member of the Pop Warner Youth Football League and a member of the board of the Olde Naples Association. He was elected to City Council in 2006.
