City of Naples Fire Bureau

The Fire Bureau is a combination of Fire Operations Division and Fire Prevention Division.  Fire Operations Division is primarily responsible for fire suppression and response to medical emergencies. Operations also responds to incidents involving technical rescue operations, hazardous material incidents, and public service requests. Fire Operations responded to 4516 incidents during 2008. Fire Prevention Division is primarily responsible for conducting fire and life safety inspections and delivering quality public education programs. The Fire Bureau consists of (37) Firefighters, (12) Lieutenants, (5) Battalion Chiefs, (1) Chief Fire Officer, (1) Administrative Assistant, (3) Fire Inspectors, (1) Prevention Specialist and (3) Fire Stations.

The Department has also implemented an Emergency Services Unit for mitigation of confined space incidents, underwater rescue/recovery, and high angle rope rescue. Two Advanced Life Support engines currently offer paramedic services from Fire Stations One and Two.

The support of the labor organization has been pivotal in the delivery of quality service to the citizens. Local 2174 of the International Association of Fire Fighters and the City of Naples have forged a relationship that serves as a positive role model throughout the City.

Crowd Manager Training
In accordance with the 2007 Edition of the Florida Fire Prevention Code, Sections 12.7.6.1/13.7.6.1, assembly establishments with an occupant load of at least 50 people shall have at least one trained crowd manager or crowd manager supervisor. When the occupant load exceeds 250 people, the establishment must provide additionaltrained crowd managers or crowd supervisors at a ratio of one for every 250 occupants.
This training is approximately 1 hour in length. This program includes information about historical fires, fire safety and crowd control. Participants must have valid photo identification at training. Training is conducted at 355 Riverside Circle, Naples, Florida 34102  Participants must pre-register for training, seating is limited, call 213-4900 to register,
