When the need for a building permit exists but the Building Dept. is closed the Florida Building Code does provide for repairs to be made under such circumstances. A permit application shall be submitted to our department the next business day. We require all contractors to contact the department as soon as “emergency repairs” are determined to be needed (usually these repairs involve the replacement of a defective electrical service or HVAC system but other conditions could apply). The City of Naples Building Department has a representative on duty after hours and on weekends/holidays to respond to complaints involving construction sites. This number is (239) 564-9109. Residents are encouraged to call this number whenever there is a complaint involving construction sites and a representative will respond. During regular business hours complaints involving construction site problems should be directed to 213-1049. Construction activity is allowed as follows –Residential areas – Monday thru Saturday 7AM till 6PM. Non-Residential areas – Monday thru Saturday 6:30 AM till 7PM. Construction activity is also not allowed on New Years Day/Memorial Day/July 4th/Labor Day/Thanksgiving Day/Christmas Day.
